Dr. Jerry Chipuk, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Oncological Sciences and an Assistant Professor of Dermatology

Tell me a little about your background and how you got to Sinai?

I went to a small liberal arts college in Ohio, Baldwin-Wallace and majored in Biology and Chemistry. After receiving my PhD in Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University, I got a postdoctorate position studying apoptosis at the La Jolla Institute of Allergy and Immunology and later the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Dr. McFarlane received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Syracuse University. After graduation from Syracuse University in 1998, Dr. McFarlane joined Kenyon College (a small liberal arts college in Ohio) as an Assistant Professor of Psychology, and simultaneously complet ed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University (from 1999-2001).

Erik B. Bloss was the 2010 recipient of the Phillip Hausfeld Memorial Scholarship Award in the Neurosciences. This award was established through a generous gift to The Graduate School of Biological Sciences from Dr. A. David Hausfeld, in memory of his father.

The Award is intended to recognize a particularly outstanding graduate student at Mount Sinai pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience.
